Alright. [ so, he just lays out his cards, revealing idek a middle of the road hand. a straight? ]

Hizamaru just peers at Shiraishi for a curious moment or two, and then he glances at their respective cards.] I just have these three and these two, Shiraishi-san. [He points at them.]

I'd be more interested in the whole "clan of samurai" thing than the job of a profiler. Japan's history is full of them but they're lost to history. How did you police the world -- and time, apparently -- without laws and carrying blades.

[ there's a slight raise of his eyebrow and a nod of his head. go on, you first. ]

[Unfortunately, he falls right into this trap. Because... he's a sword. But more important, Shiraishi mentioned something he's passionate about.]

They aren't lost, Shiraishi-san. They're still there--in history. [He takes up his cards and neatly organizes them even if he doesn't have a good god damn clue what most mean.] Protecting history isn't so difficult, not even with swords.

Changing history means changing the path the world will take. It could be dangerous. History shouldn't be changed, even if it's painful.

[After a moment, he sets out his cards, still not having betted much on himself despite the win. Sadly, all he has is three of a kind.]

Easy to say that from the present. [ he taps the edge of his own cards, before setting two down to make a straight flush. ] But it's easier not to think, consider, or worry when you're just following someone's orders.

[ After a moment, he just looks pleased. ]

[Shiraishi isn't even discussing him, but Hizamaru feels offended anyway. He frowns a bit.] It isn't possible to protect history from the present. You have to travel to the past. [He is a FOOL. It's fine.] Our master's orders all have good intentions to protect the sanctity of history.

[Oh. He peers at the cards.]

See, I told you that you would win, Shiraishi-san. Do we leave it at a tie or play a third time?

Are we claiming a tie renders the prizes invalid until one of us wins best two out of three, or do we both get something and play a last one for fun?

I'm just saying, different opinions exist. What's good for one person might not be good for another.

[ grump away, hiza. shiraishi isn't fussed. but at least he's not directly calling hiza's master a villain now, nice, nice, nice. ]

In terms of benefits, we'd both get coins and you'd regain anything you lost buying me a gift if we say we've both won.
