There are other things, too - some of us like to cook, others like to read, and we all like singing or dancing. You don't need to put on a show for any of those things.

[ it's time, ray. it's time. kanesan's hair is long and the flip -- the drama queen flip -- is enough to smack some hair against shiraishi's arm. give it a mment. ]

I'd call singing and dancing putting on a show.

this got awkward. after a second, shiraishi just sighs. ]

Not if it's just singing to yourself...

[ his voice trails off as the feeling kicks in, and by now he recognizes it easily enough. instead of acting on it, he turns to check their proximity - did shiraishi touch him? he wouldn't put it past the guy to start that just to mess with someone -

but. no. it's just his hair between them, so kanesan closes his eyes with a sigh. ]

Even my hair?

[ shiraishi is just lying there, on the bed. arms folded over his chest. maybe if he doesn't react to it the aphro will leave him alone. ]

It works through clothing. We should've realised it'd work through hair and non-skin to skin contact too.

Why would we? Most people don't touch someone's hair unless they're already close.

[ he's just gonna sit here and grump about because as much as he'd love to leave, his body doesn't want to? rude. ]

Or have long hair they like flapping around.

[ he turns his head to look at kanesada, a little thoughtfully. ]

It's only an hour. We can either sit here awkwardly, wander off and remain apart for an hour, or earn some tokens and make this a little more bearable.

[ he rolls his eyes at that comment, and he's frowning when he turns to look at shiraishi. he doesn't like this guy; he decided that a while ago, but... ]

Is there something you're trying to buy, then?

[ maybe if they keep talking he can pretend this isn't happening ]

[ don't be a rude dude. ]

Not really. But having a surplus is helpful. Who knows when you might need a first aid kit, or an unnamed blu-ray disc.

I don't know what a blu-ray disc is.

[ after waiting for a moment out of pure spite, kanesan huffs out a breath as if this pains him. ]

Fine. The extra token won't hurt.

[ he can wait. he does wait. and then he just smiles. ]

I'd say the location of these beds was convenient, but we both know it was purposeful. At least it's comfortable.

I thought you said you didn't want to give a show.

[ he's raising an eyebrow now because THIS IS KIND OF PUBLIC Y'KNOW? ]

I thought you told me I should.

[ ha ha.

but he waves a hand. ]

We're at the front, and it's unlikely anyone would notice over the dimmed lights and sound of the film once it's playing. Or we can drag ourselves elsewhere, if you're that concerned about privacy.

This wasn't the kind of show I had in mind.

[ he just. sighs. this guy... ]

It doesn't matter to me. Being an uchigatana means I can perform anywhere.

[ that's kind of a different thing but sure ]

It wasn't the one I was expecting from you either.

[ SIGH.

he just. waves a hand. take up a seat kanesada, if that's what you want to do. ]

Then we'll both have to deal with being disappointed.

[ he says as he does move to sit next to shiraishi, pointedly refusing to look at him. ]

A lot of things are.

[ welp. here they are. he gets a grip on kanesada's wrist and tugs it. ]

[ he allows shiraishi to pull him closer and finally turns to meet his eyes. his own are narrowed in annoyance - it's clear he's not happy about this, but at the same time... ]

Try not to be one of them.

[ sometimes you just gotta lie back and think of.... idek. sword polish. what turns these swords on? ]

Oh, I'm sure you'll find something to be grump about regardless. [ but hey. at least he's pretty. ]

[ hey if he kisses shiraishi will he shut up ]

for the moment, yes. ]

[ haha nice. score one for kanesan. he'll just keep doing that, then, and none too gently. if he treats this like a different sort of spar, maybe it won't be so bad. ]

[ that's one way of looking at it -- but if this is to be a battle of sorts, then there's no need to be gentle or kind. so he nips at kanesan's lips perhaps a little on the harsher than necessary. ]

[namelessfighter]

[ there's a quiet hiss and he pulls back in surprise, but after a moment he leans down to bite back. two can play that game. ]

[ he just gets a look like. what did you expect?

but he doesn't flinch away from the returned bite. ]

[ hm.

well.

the one inconvenient thing about joining shiraishi on the bed is that he's. still in full battle raiment? as he so often wears around the ship. so he's going to have to take a moment to sit back and pull the sheathed sword from his hip, setting it aside to remove the armor and wrap around his waist. that should make this a little easier, even if he still has a few more layers of clothing. ]

Is that how you convince someone to go along with you?
